On 30/10/1975, a huge area (approximately 485,000 sq.m.) was acquisitioned in the area of Kalo Chorio, Larnaca - Aradippou, with the aim of creating a Free Trade Zone.
The project was completed, and the Free Trade Zone area was fenced. Yet, some areas of the acquisitioned land were left outside the fence and were never used.
As such, former property owners claimed the return of the part of land that was left outside the fence. The Supreme Court ruled that the area that was left outside the fence, which is about 9.000 sq.m, and has very high value today, should be returned to its former owners.
